Auto Updates

Control how Agora checks for and installs updates to ensure you have the latest features, security patches, and bug fixes.

Overview

Auto update settings are global application preferences that apply across all websites and scanning operations. These settings help you stay current with the latest Agora releases while maintaining control over when and how updates are installed.

Accessing Auto Update Settings

  1. From Dashboard: Click the gear/settings icon in the top navigation bar
  2. Navigate to Updates Tab: Select the "Updates" tab in the settings dialog
  3. Configure Options: Adjust your update preferences and check application information

Update Checking

Check Interval

Configure how frequently Agora checks for new updates:

Daily (Recommended)

  • Check for updates every day
  • Ensures you receive security patches quickly
  • Default setting for most users
  • Minimal impact on application performance

Weekly

  • Check for updates once per week
  • Suitable for stable environments
  • Reduces update notification frequency
  • Good for teams with controlled update schedules

Manual Update Check

Use the manual check option to immediately verify if updates are available:

Check Now Button

  • Immediately checks for available updates
  • Shows current version information
  • Displays update status and download progress
  • Useful for troubleshooting or urgent update needs

Update Process

  • Downloads updates in the background
  • Notifies you when update is ready to install
  • Requires application restart to complete installation
  • Preserves all your settings and data during updates

Application Information

The Updates settings page displays important version and environment details:

Current Version

  • Agora Version: Your currently installed version
  • Release Type: Production, staging, or development build
  • Build Date: When your current version was built
  • Update Status: Whether you're running the latest version

System Information

  • Chrome Version: Embedded browser engine version used for scanning
  • Platform: Operating system and architecture details
  • Node.js Version: Runtime environment version

Environment Details

  • Environment Type: Production, staging, or development
  • Configuration: Active configuration profile
  • Debug Mode: Whether debug features are enabled

Best Practices

  • Keep daily checks enabled for security and stability
  • Allow automatic downloads to minimize manual intervention
  • Test major updates in development environments when possible
  • Monitor release notes for breaking changes or new features

  • Display a notification in the application

  • Be marked as high-priority updates

Data Safety
